Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best restaurants located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic experience. It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. In Italy she gained a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. She talks about her culinary passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she is in the United States for various roles such as speakers and mentors. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne often says that she feels very fortunate to share what I love most to others.
