Milena Govich

Milena Govich, director as well as actor and musician has directed many episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many more. She was also the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018) and is attached to direct two pilots in the process of development. Milena was one of the eight women who were selected by AFI's most prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her TV show and short film. The show starred Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort It was awarded the award for Best Episodic at Seattle International Film Festival as and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has been in over 100 television shows acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) that led to her being the first and only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). The actress has appeared on or recurred on several other showslike K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in numerous movies, including Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) with the lead opposite Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of her high school before completing a double major in vocal performance and pre-med with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, with a valedictorian award at the end of the course. After graduation, she capitalized on her classical ballet background to appear on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production of 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
