Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th, 1982. She is an American actress, producer and director. In 1988 she made her feature film debut with Purple People Eater. For this part, she won a Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years of age". Birch was a child actress who appeared in movies such as All I Want For Christmas (1991), Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995) as well as Alaska (1996). The actress won a Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film resulted in a BAFTA nomination. In the following year, she played in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her role in the title character in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Birch also starred on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also a part of Whisperer Mary / Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is German-Jewishand has Scandinavian as well as French-Canadian. [6] The name Thora, which she has adopted, is taken from the name of Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor"), which would be her name had she had been a child. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents were former actors in adult-oriented films and starred in Deep Throat. They were not keen to support Thora because of their experiences in the entertainment business. But the babysitter noticed Thora acting out commercials, and encouraged them to show her photo to agents. Birch had her first big break at four when her babysitter accompanied her to an audition for an Quaker Oats commercial.
