Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American actress and singer from Irish heritage, was a well-known figure. The green-eyed beauty , with her flaming hair was popular for her fiery and passionate performances in a variety of American films. Her natural beauty and glamorous appearance was much appreciated and she was referred to as the "Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her roles onscreen were a reflection of her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival in a male-dominated society. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who was never willing to compromise her respect and reputation to get the roles she deserved through merit. She stood up for the injustices and unjust treatment of female actors during her film career and gained numerous followers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It was an honest and open account of her life, as well as the challenges she had to face as she climbed the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who didn't fear doing herself stunts. Through the years she appeared in more than 60 films and earned an enormous amount of fame throughout the world. She got married in 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former air force pilot chief and brigadier who were pioneers of transatlantic aviation. O'Hara finally retired after a few years of marriage. Blair, however, died in a tragic plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's happiness was short-lived. The same year, she was diagnosed with being a victim of uterine cancer, and was required to undergo urgent surgery. She was eventually cured. She had six heart attacks, a short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 throughout the years. O'Hara was 95 years older, passed away peacefully at Boise (Idaho) on the 24th of October 2015.
