Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles was an American stand-up comedian, author, and actor. He was among the most admired and well-known entertainers. His quick wit coupled with hilarious remarks and genuine care for his fans made him an unstoppable combination of laughter, enjoyment and entertainment. The ability of his insults to seem humorous and not offensive made him a regular on celebrity roast circuits. He was a source of attention because his jokes were mean and hurtful but the person on the other end of it would laugh wholeheartedly. He started his comedy career performing prepared jokes. But, he realized that audiences liked his spontaneous insults over the more conventional material. His distinctive style earned him many fans which included Frank Sinatra. He also appeared in a variety of film and TV productions. He also produced two comedy albums. He was honored with many awards such as a Lifetime Achievement' at  The Comedy Awards. His style of insult comedy earned him a variety of names, including 'The Merchant of Venom, The Insultan,' 'Mr. Don Rickles had only small TV roles when his graduation. In order to earn a living Rickles started doing stand-up comedy. He was eventually referred to as an 'insult comedian'. The 1970s began with a very important part in the cult film 'Kelly's Heroes' (1970), which was starring Clint Eastwood. He was a part of a number of television comedies, including 'The Dean Martin Roasts (1973) and 'The Don Rickles show' (1972). Barbara Sklar and Don Rickles were married on March 14 in 1966. They had two children: Mindy and Larry. Their son passed away in the year 2011. Bob Newhart was Don Rickles his most beloved friend. They often took holidays together with their wives. They appeared on numerous shows including "Newhart" as well as Don Rickles died from kidney failure on April 6, 2017 at his Beverly Hills, California, home.
